Join us for ato meet faculty, explore areas of study, hear success stories of our graduates and learn how the real-world experience you’ll get at UNH Durham orwill prepareyou for your future.The will be led by James Ramsay, Ph.D., who spearheaded the creation of UNH's homeland security program, which was a catalyst that earned UNHits designation as a National Center of Excellence in Cyber Defense Education by the U.S. National Security Agency and the Department of Homeland Security.

Ramsay’s research interests include climate security, law enforcement education and the relationship between environmental and human security and national security strategic planning. He has published several books and has served as a subject matter expert on local and national media on a wide range of health, safety, emergency management and environmental health issues.His work has earned him multiple accolades from the American Society of Safety Professionals, including selection as a2019 ASSP Fellow, the 2016 Culbertson Award for Excellence in Service, the 2011 President’s Award and the 2008 William Tarrants Award Outstanding Safety Educator Award.

What do you like best about your job?

JR: Teaching security studies to students, engaging students in our democracy, and my colleagues.

What are your hobbies?

JR: Travel, cycling, movies and eating with family and friends.
