UNH School of Law recently co-hosted a discussion of the nation's healthcare system, including federal and state responses and strategies to address cost growth.

U.S. Senator Maggie Hassanwas the keynote speaker, discussing federalstrategies, health cost hearings before the Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor and Pensions, legislation to combat “surprise billing,”and the importance of advocacy.

The program, "Health Care Costs: Key Federal and State Strategies," also included apanel of health policy experts moderated by , Director of Health Law and Policy Programs at UNH. The panel featured , Ph.D., the American Enterprise Institute, ,Executive Director of the National Academy for State Health Policy, and , DrPH, MPA,Harvard T.H.Chan School of Public Health.The panel identified key trends in health cost growth, outlined key causes, discussed strategic solutions at the community, state and federal level, and debated policy options.
