Dean Blackman has been serving as UNH's Dean of Students since 2021.ÌýHe is an experienced academic, researcher, and educator with a demonstrated history of fostering student success and well-being. With wide-ranging experience in higher education, Dean Blackman has moved institutions forward and made numerous contributions to the field. In his role at UNH, Dean Blackman oversees multiple departments and works directly with students regarding a variety of issues they may experience. Mike graduated from NYU with a bachelor’s degree in musical theater, Columbia University with a master's in higher education administration, and DePaul University with a doctorate in educational leadership. Mike is a New England native and enjoys teaching acting.

About the Office
The Dean of Students Office is a part of the Division of Student Life, upholding Student Life's core values: Community, Safety, Wellness, and Inclusion. In addition to working directly with students, the Dean of Students has direct oversight of the Aulbani J. Beauregard Center for Equity, Justice, and Freedom, the Office of Community Standards, New Student and Family Programs,ÌýOff-Campus Engagement and Fraternity and Sorority Life, and the SHARPP Center for Interpersonal Violence Awareness, Prevention, and Advocacy. The Dean of Students also advises Student SenateÌýand oversees a number of other initiatives that you will find on this website.
