In her role as The SHARPP Center’s Prevention Specialist, Kate designs and implements violence prevention programs and strategies based in research and a power-conscious approach. Her work focuses on topics such as consent, healthy relationships, rape culture, bystander intervention, and anti-oppression. Alongside her SHARPP colleagues and in collaboration with students, staff, and faculty at UNH, Kate envisions and works towards creating a campus (and a world) free from violence.

You can find Kate facilitating programs in academic classes, student org spaces, FSL chapter meetings, and more. She is a proud co-author of the UNH Comprehensive Interpersonal Violence Prevention Plan, Co-Chair of the Research Fieldwork Safety Committee, a governor-appointed member of the , secretary for the , and serves on the UNH Transgender Policy, Action, and Climate Committee. In addition to her role as the Prevention Specialist, Kate provides direct service and confidential support for survivors as a SHARPP advocate.

Kate comes to UNH from the University of Denver, where she earned her Master’s in Higher Education Administration and worked in the office of Gender Violence Prevention & Education. She has a B.A. in communication and environmental policy from Northwestern University. Previously, Kate has worked in K-12 college access and middle school special education roles.
