Tim Marquis, who graduated in 2015 with his bachelor’s degree in biomedical science, discovered a novel pituitary cell type of the lamprey as an undergraduate at UNH while working in the lab ofÌýDr. Stacia Sower, a researcher with theÌýÌýand professor emeritus of biochemistry and molecular biology. Tim received three grants from the Hamel Center for Undergraduate Research:
Research Experience and Apprenticeship Program (REAP), Summer 2012
Topic:ÌýTraining and Learning Research in Molecular, Biochemical and Neuroendocrinological Studies of Brain and Pituitary Hormones of Fish
Undergraduate Research Award (URA) ,ÌýFall 2012,Ìýas part of an undergraduate research team with Mary Hayes
>Topic: A Comparative Study of Snap-Frozen vs. RNAlater® Tissue Preservation by In-situ Hybridization Characterization of Lamprey Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone Receptors I, II, & III in the Brain and Pituitary of the Sea Lamprey,ÌýPetromyzon marinus
Undergraduate Research Award (URA), Fall 2013
Topic: Neuroendocrine Insights from a Basal Vertebrate:Ìý¾±²Ô-²õ¾±³Ù³ÜÌýHybridization of Glycoprotein Hormone Subunits, 1GpA2, 1GTHβ, 1GpB5, in the Sea Lamprey,ÌýPetromyzon marinus
